Product website

SafeBite — sitio del producto

It explains what the scanner can detect and its limits, provides privacy and support information, and links to the stores so people can understand the tool before installing it.

The challenge

Small labels can be slow to read, especially when someone needs to watch for specific ingredients. Scanning needed to be straightforward and resilient to spotty connectivity.

The approach

Google ML Kit recognizes text on the device, and a local rules engine highlights milk-related terms and trace warnings. Scanning does not need a remote product catalog; an account can keep and sync scan history. Results are informational and do not certify a product as safe.

What I built

  • On-device OCR for ingredient labels
  • Guest mode to try the scanner
  • Synced scan history when using an account
